Ewgeco is a real-time energy-monitor that makes energy visible. It measures electricity, water and gas and shows consumption as a cost, kilowatts, litres/hour, C02 emissions and Ewgeco units.
By presenting the data in an easy-to-understand way, you are able to see when energy is being consumed or wasted. Real-time energy displays encourage behavioural change and Ewgeco's unique 'traffic light' display clearly shows if the energy being used throughout the day is acceptable. If Ewgeco's red lights are visible, energy consumption is excessive and should be investigated. The Ewgeco energy-monitor lets you see the energy in real-time and, by gaining a better understanding of consumption patterns, you can take action to reduce your utility bills.
Ewgeco connects to analogue electric meters and pulsed electric, water and gas meters making these existing meters smarter. Ewgeco for smart meters is also under development.
The Ewgeco energy-management system is currently being sold to UK businesses, local authorities, house builders, housing associations, facilities management, utility and metering companies.
Tanya Ewing had the original concept for Ewgeco in 2006 and, with a technical team led by Ken McCorkindale; Ewgeco has been designed and manufactured in Scotland.
